- Characteristics - The 98C is an excellent choice for concert band, jazz ensemble, and commercial lead. It is similar in size to a Bach 7C and is an excellent choice for a developing player moving between a Bach 12C and the larger 6 -1/2AL. ID = .980 inch (24.892 mm). Throat = .250 inches (6.35 mm) for strong players wanting less resistance.
