Wedge sound boosters are designed to work with Wedge mouthpieces, and are not compatible with other brands.
The sound booster for Wedge mouthpieces is a brass collar that slips over the base of the mouthpiece just below the cup and locks on with a small nylon tipped set screw.
The effect of the sound booster depends on the type of mouthpiece it is used with.
Hybrid Mouthpieces - The sound booster improves the slotting or the feeling of how well notes are locked in on Hybrid mouthpieces. It adds more core and density to the sound.
One Piece Plastic and Plastic Tops - The sound booster makes plastic mouthpieces sound brighter and adds core to the sound. It also makes attacks more defined ad secure, and improves stability and slotting significantly. For a darker sound you can just slip off the collar.
Brass Mouthpieces - The sound booster will add core and stability to the sound, and dampens the brighter overtones, making the mouthpiece sound darker. It also improves slotting, or the way notes feel locked in.
5/64th hex key included. Finish options are brushed raw brass or brushed silver plate.
