We’re confident you’ll love your Wedge mouthpiece — because 85–90% of players who try one keep it.
If you happen to be in the 10–15% who don’t benefit from the Wedge design, you can return it within 90 days for a full refund.

This policy applies only to mouthpieces purchased directly from Wedge Mouthpieces. Mouthpieces bought through dealers or private sales are not covered.

Refunds

(Customer is responsible for return shipping fees)

Custom mouthpieces are not eligible for refunds or exchanges.
Regular Stock mouthpieces may be returned for a full refund within 90 days, including those purchased at regular price or at 10–20% off.
Refunds are issued only to the original form of payment.
Please allow up to one week for the refund to appear on your card statement after it has been processed.
A maximum of two mouthpieces may be ordered for comparison. If more than two are purchased, only one will be accepted back for refund.

Exchanges (Within 90 Days)

Within 90 days of receiving your Gen2 mouthpiece, you may request a full-value exchange for a different size.
Customers pay shipping both ways:
- You pay for return shipping to Wedge, plus $20 for shipping of the replacement mouthpiece.
Up to two full-value exchanges are permitted within the first 90 days, provided you’ve had consultations with Dr. Dave between exchanges.
After two exchanges or 90 days, you may use the Lifetime Trade-In Program (details below).
Exchange mouthpieces may show minor signs of use, but will be in equal or better condition than the one you returned.
If a used mouthpiece is unavailable, you will receive a brand-new mouthpiece.

Lifetime Trade-In Program

(Available for orders placed on or after September 1, 2019)

Note: As of April 2023, silver-plated angled mouthpieces are considered custom orders and are final sale. Hybrid angled mouthpieces remain eligible.

How It Works

You may return your eligible Gen2 mouthpiece at any time after the 90-day trial period.
You’ll receive 80% of the original purchase value as credit toward a new Wedge mouthpiece.
You are responsible for return shipping and a $20 outbound shipping fee for the replacement.
Exchanges must be for a different size or style — not a duplicate of the same model.
The program applies only to mouthpieces, not accessories (e.g., sound boosters).
Only the original purchaser is eligible.
Returned mouthpieces must be in playable condition — no damaged shanks or major rim/cup damage.

Example

Dave buys a mouthpiece for $335.
Two years later, he wants a different size.
He returns the old mouthpiece and receives an $268 credit (80%) toward a new one.
He pays $67 for the difference plus $20 shipping — $87 total.
Replacement mouthpieces may show minor wear but will be in at least equal condition; if none are available, a new mouthpiece is sent.
Trade-ins are final sale and do not include a new 90-day trial period, but they remain eligible for future trade-ins at 80%.

Taking Care of Your Mouthpiece

To maintain eligibility for refunds or exchanges, please handle your mouthpiece carefully.
Scratches on silver plating are permanent and not covered under our return policy.

Avoid the Following

Setting the mouthpiece on the shelf of a music stand.
Placing it on hard surfaces (wood, metal, floor, counter, etc.).
Letting it touch other mouthpieces or hard objects.
Allowing it to rattle in your case.
Over-tightening or twisting it in the receiver.

Ideal Care Practices

Keep your mouthpiece either in your horn or in the protective cloth bag provided.
If you must set it down, use a soft cloth surface only.

Following these simple steps ensures your mouthpiece stays in top condition — and keeps you eligible for refunds or exchanges.
