The Wedge mouthpiece tops were the original Wedge design and are an excellent choice for someone adjusting to the Wedge rim. The Classic rim is the best place to start as it provides the best combination of comfort and performance. The original Standard rim provides slightly better flexibility for some players, but is less comfortable for players who tend to use a little more pressure as the Wedge shape is slightly more pronounced.
Many players prefer a 25 throat when playing a Wedge, especially if they are using one of the shallower cups. Most Warburton, Picket Brass, and Kanstul backbores have a #27 throat. Wedge backbores are available with the #27 or slightly larger #25 throat.
