The top rim of the G3 mouthpieces has a slightly different shape than the bottom rim. Also, the rim is slightly narrower than the G2 models and the oval is more pronounced.
Most players get better performance placing the wider rim at the top and the orientation dot at the bottom, but the mouthpiece can be played in either orientation, giving you two different rim profiles options in a single mouthpiece.
