Similar to Wedge Chuck Findley 66S, Schilke 14A4A, Bach 3D, Monette B4L, but with a slightly more V shaped cup - Excellent choice for a lead mouthpiece to complement a Bach 1-1/2C, Bach 3C, or similar “legit” mouthpiece. Also a great choice for piccolo trumpet, for which it was originally designed.
Highlights:
- SV cup slightly more V shaped than 66S.
- Excellent projection, slightly less support in upper register than the ES cup
- Less prone to bottoming out than the ES cup
- Excellent for lead when a solid mid to low register is also desired
- Works well for piccolo trumpet when a brighter sound with more projection is desired
- Surprisingly good low register for an extra shallow lead mouthpiece

- Cup Depth: SV (Shallow V) cup (similar to a Schilke or Yamaha 14A4A, Warburton SV, Reeves S, Bach 3D, or GR S cup)
- Excellent mouthpiece for commercial lead and also for pit and pops
- The Wedge rim produces a much better lower register than comparable mouthpieces of this cup depth - low range sounds more like a Bach 3C then it does like a lead mouthpiece
- Also a mouthpiece for Piccolo trumpet if one prefers a shallow cup
- Backbore: This top is best used on an S (Small) backbore which can be purchased here.
Acrylic:
- Feels softer than brass but less soft and Delrin on the chops.
- Less slippery than metal but more slippery than Delrin.
- Grip intermediate between Delrin and silver.
- Feel slightly smaller than the metal counterparts.
- Smoother than Delrin, very similar to silver.
- Comfortable to play in cold weather.
- Responsive to soft articulation.
- Articulation is clearer than Delrin, very similar to metal.
- Sound is slightly darker than brass and brighter than Delrin.
- More core in the sound than Delrin, but not as much core as metal.
- Acrylic is a brittle plastic and is likely to break if dropped
