- Characteristics - The 4.5G is intermediate in size between a Bach 5G and 4G. The cup is the same depth as the 5G, but the diameter is slightly larger, giving a roomier feel. It is an excellent choice for someone wanting a slightly larger mouthpiece than the 5G for large bore tenor trombone without going all the way to a 4G. The 4.5G also makes an excellent euphonium mouthpiece. This 4.5G Large Shank has a .275 throat, but is also available with a small shank .275 throat.
