Product Overview
Top 10 Mouthpiece! Similar to Schilke 14A4A, Bach 3D, Monette B4L - Excellent choice for a lead mouthpiece to complement a Bach 1-1/2C, Bach 3C, or similar “legit” mouthpiece
Highlights:
- S cup similar to a Schilke 14A4A cup
- Excellent projection, slightly less support in upper register than the ES cup
- Less prone to bottoming out than the ES cup
- Excellent for lead when a solid mid to low register is also desired
- Works well for piccolo trumpet when a brighter sound with more projection is desired
- Surprisingly good low register for an extra shallow lead mouthpiece
Specifications:
- Inner Diameter: .660 inches measured .04 inches into the cup
- Outer Diameter: 1.114 inches
- Cup Depth: S (Shallow) cup (similar to a Schilke or Yamaha 14A4A, Warburton SV, Reeves S, Bach 3D, or GR S cup)
- Excellent mouthpiece for commercial lead and also for pit and pops
- The Wedge rim produces a much better lower register than comparable mouthpieces of this cup depth - low range sounds more like a Bach 3C then it does like a lead mouthpiece
- Also a mouthpiece for Piccolo trumpet if one prefers a shallow cup
- Backbore: Comes on a S (Small) backbore
Features of Delrin:
- Feels softer on the chops with more give than metal - ideal for players with braces
- Less slippery than silver, allowing more grip
- Added grip makes delrin mouthpieces feel smaller than their metal counterparts with identical size designation
- More comfortable to play in cold weather
- More responsive than brass, making soft entries more secure
- Articulation less crisp with less point at the front of the note compared to brass
- Darker sound with less core than brass
- Some players may feel slight chop irritation for the first day or two while they adjust - this is normal and should subside
